Change the sample rate

Change the amount of collected data points per unit of time.

The default sample rate works well for most cases. It may be desirable to use a higher sample rate when trying to record an event that occurs very quickly to gather additional data points. For long-term data collection over multiple hours, lower the sample rate to conserve memory and reduce the data file size.

  1. On the bottom of the Experiment Screen, click Sampling Options.
  2. Click the box next to the Sensor field, then select the sensor you want to adjust from the dropdown list. If you want all sensors to have the same sample rate, select Common Sample Rate.

    Note

SPARKvue may limit higher sampling rates for wireless sensors due to limitations in Bluetooth transfer rates. In general, avoid using high sample rates for the Common Sample Rate when using a wireless sensor that contains several sensors.

  3. Under Sample Rate, use the left and right arrows to decrease or increase the sample rate.

  4. When you are finished, click OK.

SPARKvue displays the sample rate at the bottom of the Experiment Screen. The sample rate displays "Mixed" when the sensors are set to different sample rates.
