Calibrate an ozone sensor

Calibrate the concentration measurement of an ozone sensor.

The following instructions will allow you to calibrate a PASCO ozone sensor, such as the one included in the Wireless Air Quality Sensor (PS-3226), using SPARKvue.

  1. Connect the sensor to SPARKvue.
  2. Create a display monitoring the ozone concentration measurement.
  3. Select Start to begin collecting data. Observe the ozone concentration measurement until the value stabilizes, then select Stop . (If the measurement does not stabilize, wait at least 20 minutes before stopping data collection.)
  4. From the Live Data Bar in the bottom left corner, select the ozone concentration measurement, then select Calibrate measurement.

  5. Make sure that the appropriate sensor and measurement are selected, then select Calibrate.

  6. The ozone sensor's concentration measurement at the moment of calibration will be set to 0%, which is the expected concentration of ozone under typical conditions. Select OK to return to the Experiment Screen.
