Self-registration

PASCO Portal uses self-registration with access codes to provide users with an easy and secure way into the platform. The access codes allow users to register themselves to specific organizations, with the user roles they require. Users may register themselves as district admins, school or college admins, and school or college instructors. Mapping access codes to specific roles allows the system to automatically assign users the appropriate permissions and access levels.

Self-register to a school and sign in

  1. On the Login page, select Register to an organization.

  2. Select Create a new account.

  3. Enter your first name, last name, and email address into the appropriate boxes, then select Next.

  4. Enter the access code you have been provided with, then click Select School.

    If your entered access code is for a college, the Select School option will not appear. If your access code is for an independent school, or for a district with only one school, the school will be preselected and the Select School option will be disabled, as shown below. In either of these cases, skip Step 5.

  5. Select the school or schools to register into, then select Done.

  6. Select the I accept the Terms of Use option, then select Previous to return to the name entry screen or Register to proceed. The Register option will only be enabled if the access code is successfully validated.

  7. An email with a verification link will automatically be sent to the entered email address. If the link is not received shortly, select Resend Verification Email.

  8. Select the link in the email.

  9. Enter a password, then reenter the same password to confirm it. Select Set Password to proceed.

  10. Select Log In to return to the Login page.

  11. Select Log In with Email.

  12. Enter your email address and password, then select Log In.

  13. Select the school to log into, then select Done. Note that this screen will not appear if only one school was selected or available when registering, or if you registered as a college instructor.

Once you have created an account, you will only need to complete Steps 11 through 13 to log in.

Self-register to a school using a Google account

In addition to self-registering purely through Portal, users have the option to self-register using a Google account. Self-registering in this method is required for users who want to use the Google Single Sign-On feature.

  1. On the Login page, select Register to an organization.

  2. Select Sign Up with Google.

  3. Select or log into the Google account you want to register with.

  4. Select Continue to provide the necessary authorization and proceed.

  5. Confirm the details receive from Google, then select Next.

  6. Enter the access code provided and select the Select School text.

    If your entered access code is for a college, the Select School option will not appear. If your access code is for an independent school, or for a district with only one school, the school will be preselected and the Select School option will be disabled. In either of these cases, skip Step 7.

  7. Select the schools to which you wish to register, then select Done.

  8. Select the I accept the Terms of Use option, then select Previous to return to the name entry screen or Register to proceed. The Register option will only be enabled if the access code is successfully validated.

  9. Select OK to close the success dialog.

  10. Return to the Login page and select Log In with Google.

  11. Select the registered Google account.

  12. Select Continue to proceed.

  13. Select the school to log into, then select Done. Note that this screen will not appear if only one school was selected or available when registering, or if you registered as a college instructor.

Once you have created an account, you will only need to complete Steps 11 through 13 to log in.
