Previewing resources with player

While viewing a lesson or experiment, you can select the yellow Launch button to the right of the lesson or experiment's name. This will launch the lesson or experiment's contents in the Portal player, allowing you to preview the contents of certain files without downloading them.

Note

Only certain resource types, such as YouTube videos or PDFs, can be previewed in the player. Other resources, such as Word documents and SPARKvue or PASCO Capstone data files, cannot be previewed and must be downloaded to be viewed.

While in this screen, you can perform any of the following actions:

  • Switch to the previous or next resource by selecting the left or right arrow buttons in the top right.
  • Switch to a specific resource by selecting its name from the list of resources on the left.
  • Download or print a PDF using the tools available at the top of the preview window.
  • Download a non-previewable file by selecting the yellow Download button in the center of the preview window.
  • Make the player full-screen by selecting the Open in Full Screen button in the bottom right.
  • Return to the experiment or lesson page by selecting the yellow Exit button in the top right.
