Formative assessments

In addition to the student assignments available in the Teacher's Edition, Essential Physics offers two options for formative assessment: page-level "test your knowledge" questions, and section review pages.

"Test your knowledge" questions

Many content pages of the eBook have a "Test your knowledge" question at the bottom of the page. Students can check their understanding of material on that page by answering this question on a separate sheet of paper. The students can then click the "slow solution" button at the end of the problem to check their answer.

Section reviews

Section review pages can be found at the end of each section. These pages summarize content, equations, and vocabulary in the preceding section, as well as provide questions and problems about this content. In the eBook, students can view the solutions to these problems after solving them by clicking the "show solution" button at the end of each problem. Self-grading quizzes can also be found at the bottom of each section review page.
