Essential Chemistry has connections to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics interwoven throughout the text. You can quickly navigate to this content within the text via the following methods:

• To view a list of links to all STEM connections in the textbook, select the STEM icon in the home screen.
• To view a list of links to all STEM connections within a specific chapter, navigate to a page in that chapter and click the STEM icon in the page navigation bar.

Essential Chemistry Connections pages

Each chapter opens with an introductory reading and a closing reading, which help students make connections between their everyday observations and the concepts they learn in class.
