Read-aloud features

All of the main body paragraphs in the Essential Chemistry student eBook have been narrated and can be read aloud by clicking the speaker button at the end of the paragraph (see below). Click the button again to stop the narration early. To read the next paragraph, select the next speaker button.

Note

The Teacher's Edition is not narrated.

Bilingual glossary

Any term in the text written in bold blue type is defined in the Glossary. Clicking a glossary term opens the Glossary definition of that term in a floating window, as shown below. Click the button in the bottom right of this window to toggle the definition between English and Spanish when clicked. Click the speaker button in the top right to cause the definition to be read aloud in the currently selected language.
