Adjust sample rate

Change the rate at which data is collected.

In most cases, the default sample rate will work well for data collection. However, there are times when other sample rates would be preferable. When trying to gather data on an event that occurs very quickly, a higher sample rate allows you to gather additional data points. For long-term data collection which will take multiple hours, lower the sample rate to conserve memory and reduce the size of resulting data files.

  1. From the table, graph, or graph and table page, select Sampling Options from the toolbar at the bottom.
  2. From the Sampling Options dialog, check the box next to Use Common Rate if you want all connected sensors to sample data at the same rate. If not, leave the box unchecked.

    Note

If the Use Common Rate box is checked, the sample rate boxes for the individual boxes will be grayed out, as shown below. If it is unchecked, the box for the Common Sample Rate will be grayed out instead.

  3. Using the left and right arrow buttons, adjust the sample rate of each sensor, or the Common Sample Rate if the box is checked, between various preset options.

  4. When you are finished, select OK to apply the changes.
