Calibrate a Wireless CO2 Sensor
Improve the accuracy of a Wireless CO2 Sensor (PS-3208) by calibrating the measurement.
Before using the Wireless CO2 Sensor for the first time, the sensor should be calibrated so that it reads 420 ppm for fresh air. This may be done through either a standard calibration procedure, which is the default process for calibrating the sensor, or an extended calibration procedure, which should be performed if there is significant drift or if the value is outside the expected range after standard calibration.
Note
The Wireless CO2 sensor cannot have its factory calibration restored in the same way as other sensors. Instead, if the sensor measurement begins to drift following calibration, perform the extended calibration procedure again.
Standard calibration
- Connect the sensor to Chemvue.
- Insert the probe into the included 250 mL sampling bottle. Make sure to form an airtight seal with the rubber collar.
- Allow the sensor to equilibrate for 3 minutes.
- From any page, select one of the Displayed Measurement buttons and select CO2 Concentration.
-
Select the same Displayed Measurement button again and select Calibrate. This will automatically set the sensor's current measurement to 420 ppm.
-
Select OK.
Extended calibration
Tip
This procedure can be performed with multiple Wireless CO2 Sensors simultaneously.
- Take your sensor bottle and computing device outside into fresh air. You do not need the sampling bottle.
- Place the sensor in a shaded spot, away from CO2 sources such as cars and people.
- Connect the sensor to Chemvue.
- Leave the sensor undisturbed and connected for about 25 minutes.
- Once 25 minutes have passed, perform the standard calibration procedure.
