Controls palette

Learn how to use each tool in the Controls palette.

Tip

Click Show or Hide to select which controls are visible. Click ✕ to hide the palette.

Recording Controls

Controls Palette

  1. Recording and Playback Controls

    Use to toggle between the recording and playback controls. Use the recording controls to record data. Use the playback controls to play back previously recorded data.

  2. Record, Monitor, and Execute

    Click Record to begin recording data while in Continuous Mode. Click Monitor to begin monitoring data when in Keep or Fast Monitor Mode. Click Execute to begin executing code when no sensors are connected.

  3. Recording Mode

    Use to toggle between Continuous, Keep, and Fast Monitor Mode.

    • Continuous Mode: Set to record data at a specified sample rate.
    • Keep Mode: Set to manually sample data by clicking the Keep Sample button.
    • Fast Monitor Mode: Set to monitor data without recording it. Use this mode for sampling rates greater than 1,000 Hz when displaying data in the Scope and FFT displays.
  4. Clock

    Displays the elapsed recording time.

  5. Sample Rate

    Use to set the sample rate of a single sensor or multiple sensors.

    • Menu: Click to select which sensor to set.
    • Sample Rate: Enter the rate at which data will be collected from the selected sample.
    • Zero Sensor Now: Click to zero the selected sensor.
  6. Recording Conditions

    Use to set conditions when data recording starts or stops.

  7. Delete Runs

    Click to delete the most recent run. Click the down arrow to delete a specific run or all runs.

Playback Controls

Use the playback controls to perform an "instant replay" of recorded data. The playback controls are particularly useful for video analysis.

    Use to toggle between the recording and playback controls. Use the recording controls to record data. Use the playback controls to play back previously recorded data.

  2. Slider

    Click and drag to move the time forward or backward.

  3. Run Selector

    Click and select which run to view.

  4. Clock

    Displays the elapsed recording time.

  5. Beginning of Recording

    Click to go to the start of data collection at time 0.00.

  6. Previous Sample

    Click to move to the previously recorded data sample.

  7. Play

    Click to play or pause the data recording.

  8. Next Sample

    Click to move to the next recorded data sample.

  9. End of Recording

    Click to move to the last data sample.

  10. Playback Rate

    Click and select the rate to play back data.

  11. Loop Recording

    Click to have the recording automatically start at the beginning after reaching the end of the recording.
