Connect a sensor to Capstone
Connect current and legacy PASCO sensors to Capstone including sensors from the Wireless, PASPORT, and Science Workshop lines.
Wireless Sensors
Wireless Sensors can connect using Bluetooth or USB, if available:
- Power on the sensor.
- Connect the sensor directly to the computer using a USB cable.
- Power on the sensor.
- Click Hardware Setup in the Tools palette to open the Hardware Setup panel.
- Select the sensor that matches the device ID.
- Click Hardware Setup again to close the Hardware Setup panel.
PASPORT Sensors
PASPORT sensors require an interface or data logger that accepts PASPORT sensors.
- Power on the interface.

Connect the interface to your computing device using USB or Bluetooth:
Connect the interface directly to a computing device using a USB cable.

Pair the interface with your computing device using your device's Bluetooth settings.
Note
Pairing is not needed if using an AirLink Interface (PS-3200).

Click Hardware Setup to open the Hardware Setup panel.
- Select the interface that matches the device ID.

Connect the sensor to a PASPORT port on the interface.
- Click Hardware Setup to close the Hardware Setup panel.
Science Workshop Sensors
Science Workshop sensors require a Universal Interface, Science Workshop Interface, or a PASPORT interface using a Digital or Analog Adapter.
- Power on the interface.

Connect the interface to your computing device using USB or Bluetooth:
Connect the interface directly to a computing device using a USB cable.

Pair the interface with your computing device using your device's Bluetooth settings.
Note
Pairing is not needed if using an AirLink Interface (PS-3200).

Click Hardware Setup to open the Hardware Setup panel.
- Select the interface that matches the device ID.

Connect the Science Workshop sensor to the analog or digital port on the interface.
- In Hardware Setup, click the port connected to the sensor, then select the appropriate sensor from the menu.
- Click Hardware Setup to close the Hardware Setup panel.
