Set up and use manual sampling
Manually record individual data points instead of continuously recording data.
While in Keep mode, data is continually monitored but not recorded until you click Keep Sample . Use this mode when recording a sensor measurement versus a non-sensor measurement, such as in a Boyle's Law or Beer's Law experiment. This mode is also useful when recording a sensor measurement versus another sensor measurement.
Set up manual sampling
Tip
Select Manual Sampling from the Sensor Data menu on the Entry Screen to automatically set up the experiment.
- Build a page that includes a table and a graph display.
- Add measurements to each display.

In the Controls palette, change the recording mode from Continuous Mode to Keep Mode .
Note
The Recording button changes to Preview and the Keep Sample button appears.
Use manual sampling
- Click Preview to begin monitoring data. Capstone displays the current measurement, but doesn't record it.
- Click Keep Sample to record a data point. Repeat for each data you want to record.
- Click Stop when finished collecting data.
