Control the Trigger Dropper

Trigger a Smart Cart's plunger or drop a ball using the Smart Cart Trigger Dropper (ME-1249) by setting a position-based or time-based trigger.

Access the control panel

1. Connect the Smart Cart Trigger Dropper to a Smart Cart.
2. Connect the Smart Cart to Capstone.
3. Select Trigger Dropper in the Tools palette to open the Trigger Dropper control panel.

Launch options

• Trigger Type

  Use this to trigger the plunger or dropper based on the Smart Cart's position relative to its starting point or a duration of time after starting data collection.

• Trigger Value

  Enter a value that triggers the launch mechanism based on the Trigger Type.

  Tip

  Set a Position Based measurement with a value of 0. Start data collection, roll the cart backward until the blinking red LED on the cart turns green, then roll it forward. The Trigger Dropper activates when the cart returns to its starting position.

• Trigger Now

  Click to trigger the plunger or dropper manually. You can use this button while collecting or not collecting data.

Create a program

You can create a program to activate the Trigger Dropper using the Code tool . Access the block in the Hardware group.
